Road conditions
This is classed as an all-vehicle road and is accessible for all cars. You certainly don’t need four-wheel drive or off-road vehicles under normal conditions, simply travel at an appropriate speed and drive to the conditions.
The good news is that the entire road in to the national park is now fully sealed – bitumen all the way, and this greatly improves access in all weather.
You need to be very aware of wildlife, particularly if driving early morning or late afternoon. Kangaroos and wallabies can jump out at any time, and much of the road is unfenced, so watch out as the local cattle are often unwilling to move from the road!
When to visit
